Description
At the World Environment Conference in Tokyo, a method called “COMS” is being discussed. It involves liquefying pollutants and storing them in cracks in the seabed. Prime Minister Eiichi Higashiyama advocates this method and sets up a conference that includes Keishi Amami from the Ministry of the Environment and Koichi Tokiwa from the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry. But not everyone is enthusiastic about the idea. Yusuke Tadokoro publishes a report in which he explicitly warns of the dangers of this method. According to his prognosis, it would lead to the downfall of the Izu Peninsula and thus the entire Kanto region …

Auf der Weltumweltkonferenz in Tokio wird über eine Methode namens »COMS« diskutiert. Hierbei werden Schadstoffe verflüssigt und in den Rissen im Meeresboden gelagert. Premierminister Eiichi Higashiyama setzt sich für diese Methode ein und ruft eine Konferenz ins Leben, der unter anderem Keishi Amami vom Umweltministerium und Koichi Tokiwa vom Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Handel und Industrie angehören. Doch nicht jeder ist von dieser Idee begeistert. Yusuke Tadokoro veröffentlicht einen Bericht, in dem er ausdrücklich vor den Gefahren dieser Methode warnt. Seiner Prognose nach würde sie zum Untergang der Izu-Halbinsel und somit der gesamten Kanto-Region führen …
